The guest house Giardino Frannicola and its lush garden celebrate « farniente » and offer you an authentic stay in an old farmhouse heatedly restored. Once you enter the gate, a beautiful garden with apricots, plums, pears (and more) will welcome you. Each room had their own entrance and an access to the garden.
The restoration’s aim was to preserve the original structure, keeping the spaces layout, the high ceilings, the feeders for the horses, the wood-burning oven, etc. All the materials used are local: Lecce stone for the patios and Trani marble for the floors and bathrooms coatings. The original furniture of the "masseria" has been restored, including 19th century beds, and completed by unique pieces made by local tradespersons.
Italians love being together and know how to savour the little pleasures of everyday life. Like starting the day in good company, with a caffè Leccese accompanied by a pasticciotto straight out of the oven! We particularly like this intergenerational ritual and do not plan to deviate from it under any circumstances. We want our guests to join us in these instances because it's a unique opportunity in which they can immerse themselves in local culture, discovering the friendly and celebratory way of life here. This is why we offer coupons (€6,00 per night) to guests for coffee and sweet Italian treats in 3 pastry shops.
Depending on the season, our guests are also free to pick apricots, plums, pears, blackberries, figs, persimmon, pomegranates, oranges or clementines from the garden.
Breakfast is served in an excellent pastry shop just a stone's throw from Giardino Frannicola. Stefano recommended trying the pasticciotto and the iced coffee with almond milk. What can I say? I recommend it to anyone who knows how to appreciate simple and genuine things, we will definitely go back!
* €3 voucher per person per night.

Giardino Frannicola is primarily the dream of an Italian-French couple who decided to heed the call of Salento and share with travelers their passion for the region.
We will disclose our favorite routes, "secret" addresses, and must-see places, and we will be happy to book a visit to the underground oil mill, a boat tour, or a table at the right restaurant for you.
Maglie is the perfect place to explore the main tourist destinations and the hinterland of Salento. Located in the deep south of Puglia, with the cliffs plunging into the Adriatic Sea to the east and the long white sandy beaches washed by the Ionian Sea to the west, you can walk in the footsteps of the successive civilizations, admire the rich artistic heritage, and discover an equally generous gastronomy.
